GREEN DOSE

3-channel video installation, 17’ 8”, stereo sound, 2024

“Green Dose” features CGI landscapes inspired by the iconic Val di Mello region, accompanied by a pink noise soundscape simulating water. It explores the scientific theory ‘Attention Restoration Theory’, suggesting that immersing yourself in a natural landscape that invites exploration and novelty, reduces stress by engaging the brain’s default mode network.

In the frame of recent mental health study recommendations of 120 minutes of nature exposure a week to reduce stress, visitors are invited to immerse themselves and get their Green Dose of the day of exactly 17 minutes and 8 seconds.

Through this absurd framing, the work encourages to reflect on the broader implications of reducing nature to something that can be consumed or prescribed like vitamin supplements, a dialogue about humanity’s increasingly artificial relationship with the natural world and the consequences of such detachment.
